Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry

What is Stephen Ministry?

Stephen Ministry is confidential one-to-one, female to female, or, male to male Christian care.  It is for anyone 18 and older experiencing a crisis situation or temporary difficulty in their lives.  A Stephen Minister will meet with you privately—by phone, by video chat, or in person in a safe setting to focus on you and your needs for about an hour a week.

How Do I Get Started?

Are You Struggling? Let our CUMC Stephen Ministers help you. You do not have to face it alone. If you or someone you care about is experiencing difficulties, our Stephen Ministers are ready to listen, care, encourage, and be there to offer support—it’s free and completely confidential. Let one of our trained Stephen Ministers meet with you privately—by phone, by video chat, or in person in a safe, social distancing setting to focus on you and your needs. For more information please contact Stephen Minister Referrals Coordinator, Glenda Henkel, at  grhenkel320@gmail.com

Become a Stephen Minister

Stephen Ministry at CUMC equips a team of compassionate Christian disciples to bring Christ’s healing love to people who are hurting. Stephen Ministers are those Christians interested in helping the people who are hurting. CUMC currently has several Stephen Ministers, but more are needed. There will be comprehensive training to provide confidential one-to-one Christian care to individuals who are experiencing personal difficulties in their lives.  Would you like to be able to help? There will be two information sessions held in August with upcoming training beginning in the Fall.  Please prayerfully consider being a Stephen Minister here at CUMC.  If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Stephen Minister Training Coordinator, Donna D’Arcy at gramof5girls@gmail.com
