Catonsville United Methodist Church’s Vacation Bible School (CUMC’s VBS) includes a wide range of fun, faith-centered activities designed to teach children about the Bible and Christian values in an engaging, age-appropriate way. CUMC’s VBS is a free program.
This year’s theme is Exploring the Nature of God. Embark on a wild, creature-filled Amazon adventure where kids learn that Jesus is Creator, All-knowing, our Refuge, Love, and Forever.
CUMC’s VBS will include:
- Bible Lessons – Central to VBS—children learn Bible stories through storytelling, drama, or multimedia.
- Music & Worship – Lively songs with hand motions help children memorize scripture and engage in worship.
- Arts & Crafts – Hands-on projects related to the day’s Bible lesson (e.g., making prayer jars, crosses, or themed decorations). These are often taken home as reminders of the lesson.
- Games & Recreation – Outdoor or indoor physical games that reinforce teamwork and the daily theme. Examples: obstacle courses, relay races, or themed tag games.
- Snack Time – A daily snack break with themed or simple treats. Snacks will be matched to children’s individual dietary restrictions as identified by parents/guardians.
- Mission Projects – Children may collect money, canned goods, or supplies for a charity or local cause.
